Favre Signs Deal With Vikings

Brett Favre has come out of retirement yet again and has signed a deal with the Minnesota Vikings worth between 10 to 12 million dollars. Favre flew from his home in Mississippi to Minnesota on Tuesday, and was driven to the Vikings practice facility by Vikings head coach Brad Childress. Favre was seen on the practice field with the Vikings Tuesday afternoon. Childress has told sources he plans on Favre starting Friday nights game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Favre played for 16 seasons with the Green Bay Packers, retired following the 2007 season. Favre then came out of retirement in 2008, and played for the New York Jets, retired again and now has come out of retirement yet again and will now play for the Minnesota Vikings.
With Favre back in the NFC North how does affect the balance of power? The Chicago Bears traded for Jay Cutler, but so far there have been some issues with him getting along with some of his wide receivers, and the Bears do not have any real breakout receivers. In contrast to what Cutler had in Denver with Brandon Marshall. The Vikings have one of the leagues best running game with Adrian Peterson, and one of the leagues best run defenses. The Green Bay Packers had decent success in 2008 with Arron Rodgers but their defense was their downfall. They are switching to the 3-4 this season it may take some time. The Lions were the worst team in the league last season going 0-16 that team is in a complete rebuilding phase.
With the Vikings acquiring I think it can benefit them assuming he stays healthy and does not falter down the stretch like he did last season with the Jets. He will be working under the same system he did in Green Bay. The Vikings before Favre’s arrival have Travaris Jackson, and Sage Rosenfels battling for the quarterback position neither have been particularly sharp as of recent. I’m not saying the Vikings will win the division again or not but I do think they do have a shot to make this team better.
